The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)
The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) is a group of armed police organizations that are under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. The CAPF includes the following forces:
- Assam Rifles (AR)
- Border Security Force (BSF)
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- National Security Guard (NSG)
- Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
The CAPF was previously known as the Central Para-Military Forces (CPMF). The name was changed in 2011 to improve the force’s international image, as the term “paramilitary” can refer to militant groups in some countries.
The CAPF eAwas portal allows force personnel to book quarters and make payments online. Bookings are made on a first-come, first-served basis
Candidates must have completed their Intermediate (12th) with a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics Or have completed their High School (10th) and possess a 2-year Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate from a recognized board or institute.
The Border Security Force (BSF) is India’s primary border defence paramilitary force. The BSF salary ranges from approximately INR 21,700 per month for a Constable to INR 22,50,000 per month for a Director General, depending on rank and years of service.
