5 different types of links are follows:

Product link

Banner link

Page link

Native Shopping Ads

Promotional Ads

1. Product Link

Product links works the best when you are reviewing a product and you want to sell the product. It also works well on your Youtube channel where you do a product review. You can create a link to Amazon Affiliate so that the visitors can purchase the product after they watch the video.

First, login to Amazon Affiliate website. At the quick link search box, type name of the product or ASIN/ISBN number.

When you get the search result, find the product that fits the search and click on down arrow next to GET LINK.

When you get the custom link to the product, click on Shorten URL with amzn.to?

Amazon will shorten the long Amazon affiliate link. This is very helpful to manage. When you get the short link, copy the short link and now you are ready to use it on your website.

In this example, we will be using WordPress website. If you are not using WordPress, the concept is pretty same. Best result will be creating a link from the photo of the product. If you don’t have photo of the product, you can always download from Amazon website. Find the photo of the product and RIGHT CLICK it, and click on Save Image As..

Once you have the photo of the product, upload it to your WordPress website and insert the photos to your post. Once the photo is inserted, click on EDIT.

Finally, in Image Detail section, choose LINK TO to CUSTOM URL. Paste the Amazon affiliate link below. Make sure you check OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB. When you are done, click UPDATE.

Now you are done.

2. Banner Link

Amazon banner link is just that putting a advertisement banner on your website. You can choose different kind of banners to display on your site. For optimal performance, place the banners near the top of your most frequently visited pages.

In the top of Amazon Affiliate website, choose the Banners option.

Now pick the category of the product for the banner link. After that you get to pick the different size of the banner. Once you are done, it will generate the HTML code. Copy this code and you can paste on your website.

If you have WordPress, you have option to paste in the side bar or on the post or page itself. If you decided to paste on your post/page, be sure to choose TEXT mode and paste it.

Below is the example of the banner pasted on your post/page.

If you decided to put banner on your side bar, use TEXT widget. If you are not sure how to use TEXT widget, take a look at the previous post, How to Add Google Adsense Ad on your WordPress Website. Concept is exactly the same.

3. Link to Any Page

Link to Any Page is very simple. You can create affiliate link to any page in Amazon. Best way to use this is use as text link. For example, you can create an affiliate link to Amazon Best Seller page.

To find the Link to Any Page, go to Amazon Affiliate page, and under PRODUCT LINK, click on Link to Any Page.

Be sure to go to Link to Any Page tab. From there fill in the Amazon URL, and the name of the link. It will create a link for you. You can use it on your post as a text link.

4. Native Shopping Ads

Native Shopping Ads is more dynamic way to post ads on your website. This is good way to sell product that is relating to the content of the website and web posts. It is easy to set up and comes in stylishly designed and responsive ad unit that can be placed at the end of content or within the content to create a more compelling visitor experience.

Native Shopping Ads comes in three format: Recommended Ads, Search Ads, and Custom Ads. To tell the trust, I was unable to get Recommended Ads to work. Recommended Ads supposed to dynamically scan the website or the post and create a relevant product for you to insert. But Search Ads and Custom Ads are very easy to setup. You can choose Search Ads or Custom Ads but click on the drop down menu.

In Search Ads mode, you can type is a keyword and it will generate a relevant ads for you. In Custom Ads mode, you can type is a keywords and pick 4 products you can insert. After you put in the keywords, you can preview the ads before you insert them. Just like the other ads, it will generate a code for you to copy. For the best result, it is recommended to insert inside your posts or article. Just like the banner link above, use TEXT mode to insert the code in your post, or article.

Here is the example of Search Ads:

5. Feature Promotion

Feature Promotion ads are ads that are put together by Amazon. It is list of events and special offers from Amazon that you can take advantage of. Feature Promotion includes seasonal offers, best sellers, deals, ongoing merchandising themes, and product trends. Feature Promotion changes daily so it is good idea to check back often to see if there is one you like to use on your website.

You can find Feature Promotion under PROMOTIONS menu.

Browse through different promotional ads and see anything you like to use. Once you find the one you like to use, there are two options. You can just create a simple link or banner link. Once you have the code, it is matter of inserting into your website or post. The process is same as I mentioned above.

Conclusion

So there are 5 different ways to put Amazon affiliate link in your website. Try different links and find what works for you. Just remember that in order to get the best result, you first need lots of traffic coming into your website. If you have no traffic coming to your website, it doesn’t matter what kind of ads you choose. Good luck!

These are 5 different places where you increase your click-through rate. But just what you said Sam, if you do not have the traffic it doesn’t matter what kind of ads you choose. So you should attract online visitors who want to click on your links.
